For two consecutive years, ELIT Language Services has provided its services to the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) for its international conferences in Athens. UNEP coordinates the environmental activities of the United Nations, assists developing countries in adopting effective environmental policies, and strengthens sustainable development through good environmental practices.
UNEP’s activities encompass the atmosphere and marine and terrestrial ecosystems. The program promotes education and science, having played a vital role in the development of international environmental Conventions. UNEP has also contributed to the development of guidelines on issues such as the international trade of potentially hazardous chemicals, cross-border air pollution and pollution of international maritime routes.
