During a modest but very special event at the “Lighthouse” of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre, Aegean Airlines announced the largest investment to be made in Greece in recent years: $5 billion in new aircraft for updating and expansion of its fleet.
Aegean selected Airbus 320/321neo aeroplanes, which offer up to 15% lower fuel consumption, significantly reduced emissions and noise, and a 600 – 1,500 km greater range, equivalent to one to two additional hours of flight.
ELIT interpreters were available for the leadership of Aegean, top Airbus executives, and the distinguished guests.
ELIT Language Services’ relationship with the field of aviation is multifaceted: ELIT has been a consistent provider of interpretation and translation services for Athens Flying Week, has covered the simultaneous interpretation and related equipment needs at the General Assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in Athens, and has provided support, through its interpreters, to the General Aviation Roadmap in Europe and Greece, co-organised by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and IAOPA Europe.
