The 2014 Hellenic Presidency of the Council of the EU greatly increased the demand for high-quality interpreting services.
ELIT Language Services was the natural choice, as we are the sole provider of interpreting services in Greece that possesses the necessary credentials, an efficient organizational infrastructure and, chiefly, the expertise that high-level international multilingual conferences demand. ELIT almost exclusively covered the dozens of European meetings that were held throughout Greece, as well as all the conferences of the parliamentary conferences held in the context of the Presidency.
Thanks to this, during the first 6 months of 2014, ELIT more than doubled the man-days of interpreting it covered compared with the corresponding period in 2013.
Among the many positive results of organising so many high-level meetings in Athens other cities throughout Greece was the fact that the country’s professional conference organisers (PCOs) had the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the standards and good practices of the interpreting services of the European Commission and the European Parliament.
